Where does your inspiration come from?

An arrangement I made from dried flowers

I've been thinking a lot about where I want this business to go and what it is about.  Often I feel like fashion is just inspired by airheadedness and consumerism.   That's not me and that's not my designs for Peony and Moss.  Sometimes it brings me down because I do love fashion and design and art. Yesterday I read about Scarlet and Gold they are inspired by their Christian faith.  That's not me either but I like that it's a lot more inspiring than what Beyonce's been up to.  I've been thinking a lot about the fine art world-- after getting a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, I've been involved in the art world, but it's not 100% me either.  I've been reading and I really like the idea of helping other succeed.

What I really love is that there are so many facets to the world.  I'm inspired by how huge the universe is and just in a 10 minute walk I can see so many things I can't even comprehend them all.  There's so much complexity in a tiny ant hill I can't even begin to imagine how it all happens.  I love this quote I read yesterday by Audrey Hepburn "I love being by taking long walks with my dogs and looking at the trees, the flowers, the sky."  It was about being an introvert.  I was getting annoyed by all the noise on social media, which I've been exploring as a marketing avenue.  The fact is, I'm inspired by the world, and I'm loving being able to add my own special thing to it.
