Where does your inspiration come from?

An arrangement I made from dried flowers

I've been thinking a lot about where I want this business to go and what it is about.  Often I feel like fashion is just inspired by airheadedness and consumerism.   That's not me and that's not my designs for Peony and Moss.  Sometimes it brings me down because I do love fashion and design and art. Yesterday I read about Scarlet and Gold http://scarletandgoldshop.com/- they are inspired by their Christian faith.  That's not me either but I like that it's a lot more inspiring than what Beyonce's been up to.  I've been thinking a lot about the fine art world-- after getting a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, I've been involved in the art world, but it's not 100% me either.  I've been reading http://onewomanshop.com/ and I really like the idea of helping other succeed.

What I really love is that there are so many facets to the world.  I'm inspired by how huge the universe is and just in a 10 minute walk I can see so many things I can't even comprehend them all.  There's so much complexity in a tiny ant hill I can't even begin to imagine how it all happens.  I love this quote I read yesterday by Audrey Hepburn "I love being by myself...love taking long walks with my dogs and looking at the trees, the flowers, the sky."  It was about being an introvert.  I was getting annoyed by all the noise on social media, which I've been exploring as a marketing avenue.  The fact is, I'm inspired by the world, and I'm loving being able to add my own special thing to it.
